crepe paper explorations

A few weeks ago I went into Spotlight and walked out with two rolls of pink crepe paper streamers- I thought I was going to make something crafty with it but I just couldn’t figure out how to work with it on my cards without it being too 3D since it would just smoosh if I put it in an envelope.

So when I spotted the crepe paper challenge over here at Moxie Fab World blog, I decided, why the heck not? Pardon the less than stellar project this time- I’ve had a pretty crap weekend and have been sick, but here we go! This is not my usual style definitely!

I told you…. >_<

Still, I think I did pretty all right considering I had no idea what I was doing and was just making things up with my sick brain as I went along.

Also, my Fiskars trimmer is pretty much broken! 😑 It doesn’t pay to get cheap things sometimes, and I will not recommend Fiskars products to anyone! I also have a corner rounder punch from that and the thickest thing it can punch properly is probably a 80gsm piece of paper. I have since ordered a Tonic 12″x12″ guillotine and I am looking forward to chopping up some paper!

Hope everyone is having a better weekend than I did!

xx

  1. I think you did a really good job πŸ˜€ The card is very cute. I really like the stitching!

  2. RIP to your trimmer … I upgraded to a different trimmer – ironically, a Fiskars trimmer but it is doing remarkably well. It was recommended by Jennifer McGuire (www.jennifermcguireink.com). It pays to have one that works properly and cuts through thick cardstock! I love this flower – it is so cute!!

    • You are too kind Cara!!! I am glad you are having a good experience with your new Fiskars! It must be a better model than the crappy one I had πŸ™‚ It behaved okay at first but then the little plastic groove got wonked up by the blade running through it and now it won’t cut straight @_@ I’m hoping this Tonic one is a good investment- I read a lot of reviews before I ordered it- it cost me USD100 all up to ship that thing here, it better be good at what it claims to do LOL!

  3. Sorry to hear that your feeling under the weather and hope you feel better soon. I think your card turned out great. I love your sweet little flower and the stitching.
