Happy Valentine’s Day..

Privyet! (That is ‘hello’ in Russian! ;)) Today’s card is as the title suggests, a Valentine’s day card… Back when I was in secondary school (high school in the US!), it was a single-sex school, so everyone is very open on giving each other gifts and flowers… On Valentine’s day morning we would all go around to classrooms making our deliveries of chocolates, candies, soft toys, flowers and cards. Thinking back on it brings back very fond memories of my school days! It really wasn’t just a day for lovers, for us it was also a day of love for your friends 🙂

Here is my card today:

Quite a few layers here 🙂

The top two mat stacks had foam dimensionals.. unfortunately I was unable to capture it without showing all of you the foam LOL

I used a sticky red tape and then poured some pretty glitters over it before adhering my mat stacks. The white layer was inked along the edges with ink the same colour as the cardstock, can you see? Drawing little fake ‘stitches’ with a white pen… so much fun! I also inked up the edges of the top-most layer to make the black stand out from black.

    • Thanks Darlene- I’ll definitely be back for more challenges. I hope you use that idea some time to make something- it’s a really fun and easy technique! 🙂

  3. LOVE all the layers and although I tend to shy away from using bright colors, especially pink, this is gorgeous! The black & white really balance the pink out. Elegant and beautiful! Thanks so much for joining us in The Sisterhood of Crafters.

    • Hi Micki! I definitely know what you mean 🙂 I’m glad you thiink the black and white help to balance the hot pink out hehe… I wanted a big pop of colour and still stay true to the challenge 🙂

Thank you for having me at the challenge, I will be back for more!

  4. You are a machine Steph! I’m a little jealous that you can make such pretty cards one after the other 😉
