A Card Just to Say Hello!

Hello again! My second post today also follows the colourQ challenge like my previous card!

And is also based on this sketch:

So here is my second card…

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

The hearts I used here are from the leftovers of the hearts die cut from my last card here 😀 The pink flourishes are cut with My Favorite Things Leafy Flourish die, which I just love!! It’s so dainty 🙂 The cream flourishes are cut from Papertrey Ink’s Fancy Flourishes dies.

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

I remembered to use some foam tape for added dimension this time *laughs* Even the white mat all the elements are on has foam tape underneath to pop from the card base! I’m just loving that effect. ‘Just Saying Hello’ is from the Hero Arts ‘Truly Appreciated’ clear stamp set (disclaimer: this is not an affiliate link). I just bought it and I think I’ll be reaching for it often for its larger-sized sentiments!

Before I go I’d just like to show everyone my Valentine’s flowers from my boyfriend, who somehow managed to send me roses from Australia. They are delivered by a local florist here in Singapore and I got them two days after Valentine’s Day but it’s still so very sweet!

This is actually the first time a boyfriend has ever given me flowers for Valentine’s Day so yes, I am actually pretty stoked LOL!! Thank you for the flowers Elliot, I love you 🙂 x

And that is all for today, I’m still working on cleaning up my room and reorganising my dies and stamps – a huge task to undertake! I didn’t know I had *that* much! But I know once they get organised I will reach for the unused ones more. Thank you for visiting my blog!  xx Stephinka

Under the Weather?

Sharing a ‘feel better soon’ card- we all need a get well card and usually it’s hard to have a card ready for that immediately so I thought it was a great idea to do a challenge for one. Now I have a get well card at the ready! Also, I’m following a colourQ challenge:

And I also based the creation of my card on a sketch I found…

Without further ado…. Here’s my card!

handmade get well card, feel better handmade card, pink, red, turquoise, cream, white, papertrey ink limitless layers, silhouette cameo, papertrey ink double ended banners, stampin up lace die

I used Papertrey Ink’s Limitless Layers in two of their available sizes to make both the ‘cool caribbean’ colour and the ‘pretty in pink’. The diecut of those hearts were made with my Silhouette Cameo! Love that thing and need to use it more often!

handmade get well card, feel better handmade card, pink, red, turquoise, cream, white, papertrey ink limitless layers, silhouette cameo, papertrey ink double ended banners, stampin up lace die

And another favourite die of mine from Papertrey Ink is the double ended banners one- which I embossed with PTI Sunshine impression plate and then stamped with a Feel Better Soon sentiment from Paper Smooches Stamps set ‘Healthy Vibes’ 🙂 Finished the card with a Stampin Up border punch- I don’t know what it’s called but I like that the scallops/lace looks simple enough to still be able to make this card appropriate to give to a guy/boy who is ill.

Thanks for visiting! I am trying to keep up with replying to comments- I read every one of them but don’t always have the time to reply. Know that I still love you all though! Hope everyone is having a good day! 😀 xx Stephinka

Flowers in the Window Part 2

If you noticed an earlier post from today featuring the two cards here, that was a dedicated post for just one challenge that required me to show them two together. I decided to separately post the two cards for other challenges!

handmade floral cards, handmade cards singapore, hand cut flowers, memento markers stamping and coloring, handmade interactive cards, pink, purple, blue

The pockets were die cut from waxed paper using PTI’s Seed Packet Die and had the tops chopped off with a PTI die (forgot the actual name but it’s supposed to mimic the look of pinking shears) so that they looked like mini glassine bags! I thought it looked a little gray so I have unintentionally created something to complete a colour challenge from CR84FN:

handmade floral cards, handmade cards singapore, hand cut flowers, memento markers stamping and coloring, handmade interactive cards, pink, purple, blue

I stamped the shipping tag pull out with some flowers from the same Hero Arts set and added a heart with some foam dimensionals for extra fun! Plus, now I’ve met requirements for Make My Monday’s Hearts and Flowers challenge!

handmade floral cards, handmade cards singapore, hand cut flowers, memento markers stamping and coloring, handmade interactive cards, pink, purple, blue

To meet requirements for the Sundae Bar challenge over at Paper Sundaes challenge blog, I added pearls to both of the cards and they both have cream! So that’s three ‘toppings’ I met: Pearls, Cream, Distressed! Yay! Actually, this is also some sort of blue, isn’t it? Won’t that make me meet all four toppings? ^_^;

Memento marker stamping and lots of florals!

I have two cards here to share with you all today! And they are the same, just different colours to meet the challenge criteria for the City Crafter Challenge Blog challenge to make ‘A Perfect Pair’! I will be reposting these cards to enter for other challenges and this is a dedicated post just for my City Crafter Challenge.

The flower and leaves stamps are from Hero Arts, and I had to hand cut them for these cards. Before I did that, I coloured the stamp itself with Memento waterbased markers and spritzed it with some Perfect Pearls Mist so it is a wee bit shimmery but only when you look up close!

Adhered the ‘glassine’ pockets to the two different colour mats and attached them to a cream card base which was then distressed with some PTI Vintage Touch dye ink..

Another Mellow Summer

Hey everyone! Just a really quick post today 🙂

handmade card with buttons, everyday button bits, papertrey ink, glitter, handmade card singapore

A few weeks back I sold my unloved set of Everyday Button Bits to my stamping friend from NZ, Euna. And then I started to regret it!!! So I bought another set off someone else and decided this time I need to use it, and here I am with this very CAS card 🙂 Hope you enjoy!

Another Masculine Handmade Card :D

Hey everyone! My second card for today, and also the second one for the Play Date Cafe Challenge, so if you want to see my first one please click over here 🙂

handmade card, handmade card for guys, handmade card for boys, happy birthday handmade card, blue, yellow, navy, scallops, papertrey ink

This handmade card I also thought to ‘target’ towards guys, from young boys to boy friends or boyfriends, to husbands, to dads and grand dads! It’s blue and yet has a bright yellow to it, which I like.. Masculine cards don’t always have to be dull colours, right? 😀

Tip: Don’t have matching buttons for the colours you are using? I have a tip that I just made up today LOL! First, you need a Copic marker (or any other permanent market) that matchs or coordinates with the ink colour, a white/cream button, clear embossing powder (fine grain!) and a heat gun.

1. Colour button with marker, if it has grooves/designs you don’t have to get into all the nooks and crannies.
2. Allow to dry for, in my case, like 20 seconds because I have no patience LOL – I found that with Copics, even after it has dried, it still feels tacky on the button; I suppose it’s because it’s not made really for colouring on plastic.
3. Dump button into the clear embossing powder and make sure the top and sides of button are covered with the powder. Tackiness from the Copics will let the embossing powder stick.
4. Pick up button from embossing powder container with some tweezers and put it on a heat-safe surface, using the tip of tweezer to make sure button won’t fly around while being heated (believe me, it will!).
5. Blast it until all powder melts but don’t overdo it. Beware: button will be VERY HOT so leave it to cool first before working with it
6. Tadah!! Buttons coloured to your choice and all sealed in!

I love my self-coloured buttons! ^_^

For the Boys

Hello! Today I made a card based on this colour combination at The Play Date Cafe. Initially I wasn’t going to give it a go because I realised I don’t have any more cardstock in that sunny yellow/orangey colour, but then I remembered I do have inks in that colour! Woohoo!

handmade card, handmade card for guys, handmade card for boys, happy birthday handmade card, blue, yellow, navy, scallops, papertrey ink

Decided to make it a card geared towards guys/boys, too!

Tip: I created that scallop by cutting a border die cut in half, length-wise. The die originally looked like this:

So go and check out your border dies/punches and see if any of them would be totally changed up if you cut them in half!

Love Birds

This is my last card I’m posting for the day, continuing on with the PTI Anniversary creations requirement to be inspired by something on Pinterest; I decided to look at the cards that I have pinned to my own inspiration board. It was about time I tried to learn from those ideas so in essence this is sort of a CASE card.

The above card is by Angeline of The Creation of Creativity, so credits to her for this gorgeous card I’ve used as inspiration!

valentines day handmade card, same sex valentines day card, same gender relationship card, handmade, papertrey ink, little bitty birds

Used the Little Bitty Birds stamps and dies to make the birds on some pinkish red cardstock. If you’re wondering why both birdies are the same colour, it’s because I made this card specifically for a female friend and her female significant other.

valentines day handmade card, same sex valentines day card, same gender relationship card, handmade, papertrey ink, little bitty birds

I was just thinking some time ago, that there was a lack of handmade cards relating to the GLBT community, and was rather upset when there were silhouettes or cameos of men and women and you could only stamp it so that a man’s silhouette always faces the direction of the woman’s silhouette. So today, I’m glad I was able to play around with these dies to make a girl birdie face another girl birdie 🙂

Anyways, these are already in the post and on the way to them. I really hope they like it!

Thanks for visiting, and if you have any thoughts regarding this post please do leave me a comment! xx Stephinka

To My Own Valentine :)

In this post I am sharing with you the card I have made for my boyfriend, so Elliot, if you are reading this, CLICK AWAY! Don’t spoil your own surprise…

So because the PTI contest had us all mucking about Pinterest looking for inspiration, I stumbled upon an image that reminded me to make a Valentine’s card that was more personal to us as a couple, and not something that was just my sort of usual thing.

via Pinterest

Red velvet cupcakes are my personal favourite! Well anyway I’ll get on to showing you my card for him.

handmade valentines card singapore, muffin, cupcake, milo, glitter ribbon

My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship- but during the time we stayed together he would make me the best Milo, which is a malt chocolate drink probably not so well-known in USA! E would heat up soy milk — I’m mildly lactose intolerant — on the stove and then fill the mug nearly half-full with the Milo powder so I could get some really thick and rich choccy drink on a chilly evening in Melbourne. As a joke I would always ask E for a cupcake or muffin so it would complete my mini-meal. And so this card came to be 🙂

I used Candy Cane Christmas from PTI for the mug of Milo (words stamped with some lovely Lawn Fawn alphas), ampersand from Paper Smooches and finally the cupcake with PTI’s Cupcake Collections- I had sold the dies off as I hardly used them so I had to fussy-cut out that pink topping!!

Also, I just had to add something *shiny* to the card because E knows I like shiny things LOL. It is some pretty glitter ribbon from American Crafts; I practically started gravitating towards the ribbon shelf in my LSS when I spotted it and just had to have it 🙂

SHINY!!!
