Papertrey Princess Challenge!

This may have to be the perfect time for me to get my hands back into the cardmaking thaaaang. If you remember my last post which was all the way back from April, I had been making cards for cancer survivors — well that was all done with the help of dearest Euna, who helped me a fair bit with the number of cards sent to the Cancer Society. She’s currently on medical elective out somewhere on an island in the Pacific- Cook Islands! I have never even heard of the place before she mentioned it; girl’s got guts and a big heart and is sharing her adventures on her travel blog right here. Go and smother her with tropical humidity some comment love!

Anyway… I have just returned home yesterday from a vacation to Australia and had no idea I was next on the challenge hosting until the day before…. So here’s what I’m issuing to all the lovely Papertrey Princesses who may want to take part:

Make Your Own 3D Elements and/or No Sentiment card!!!

I know, you guys must be thinking “she’s crazy” but on account of the fact that I currently am on holiday from a holiday and down with a cold, pretty please bear with my empty cranium and indulge (or ignore) me 😀 Oh and a warning… I got really lazy so I just whipped out my phone and took a picture. Yes, I’ve gone that far…

This is super inspired by a very talented cardmaker whose blog and name escapes me at the moment because I can be a huge dummy like that. She makes lots of flowers and wreaths, landscape-y cards with a stylus tool and this particular design of a card I pretty much CASE-d from her. I would love to give her credit for it so if anyone knows who I am talking about please give me a shout!

I don’t own a stylus but I used the end of a make up brush as one to shape the foliage and flowers on my ‘stamping mat’ AKA craft foam. Don’t do this unless you are ready to wreck the foam, just a warning! Use your mousepad (if it is inexpensive :P)… Anyway the challenge ahem is to use your own 3D elements! Use a rolled rose die, crunch up some crepe paper or even just make a die cut pop with some foam tape! Oooorrr.. if you hate that idea just make a blank card with no sentiments that can be for any occasion! If you are feeling mighty adventurous, do both the 3D and the sentiment-less card… Who knows when you will need a card for something that crops up suddenly when you don’t feel like making anything: just stamp whatever sentiment and VOILA!

You don’t need to be a Papertrey Princess to join this challenge but if you play along or read this, do link up so I can visit you too!

xx Steph

A Card Just to Say Hello!

Hello again! My second post today also follows the colourQ challenge like my previous card!

And is also based on this sketch:

So here is my second card…

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

The hearts I used here are from the leftovers of the hearts die cut from my last card here 😀 The pink flourishes are cut with My Favorite Things Leafy Flourish die, which I just love!! It’s so dainty 🙂 The cream flourishes are cut from Papertrey Ink’s Fancy Flourishes dies.

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

I remembered to use some foam tape for added dimension this time *laughs* Even the white mat all the elements are on has foam tape underneath to pop from the card base! I’m just loving that effect. ‘Just Saying Hello’ is from the Hero Arts ‘Truly Appreciated’ clear stamp set (disclaimer: this is not an affiliate link). I just bought it and I think I’ll be reaching for it often for its larger-sized sentiments!

Before I go I’d just like to show everyone my Valentine’s flowers from my boyfriend, who somehow managed to send me roses from Australia. They are delivered by a local florist here in Singapore and I got them two days after Valentine’s Day but it’s still so very sweet!

This is actually the first time a boyfriend has ever given me flowers for Valentine’s Day so yes, I am actually pretty stoked LOL!! Thank you for the flowers Elliot, I love you 🙂 x

And that is all for today, I’m still working on cleaning up my room and reorganising my dies and stamps – a huge task to undertake! I didn’t know I had *that* much! But I know once they get organised I will reach for the unused ones more. Thank you for visiting my blog!  xx Stephinka

Flowers in the Window Part 2

If you noticed an earlier post from today featuring the two cards here, that was a dedicated post for just one challenge that required me to show them two together. I decided to separately post the two cards for other challenges!

The pockets were die cut from waxed paper using PTI’s Seed Packet Die and had the tops chopped off with a PTI die (forgot the actual name but it’s supposed to mimic the look of pinking shears) so that they looked like mini glassine bags! I thought it looked a little gray so I have unintentionally created something to complete a colour challenge from CR84FN:

handmade floral cards, handmade cards singapore, hand cut flowers, memento markers stamping and coloring, handmade interactive cards, pink, purple, blue

I stamped the shipping tag pull out with some flowers from the same Hero Arts set and added a heart with some foam dimensionals for extra fun! Plus, now I’ve met requirements for Make My Monday’s Hearts and Flowers challenge!

handmade floral cards, handmade cards singapore, hand cut flowers, memento markers stamping and coloring, handmade interactive cards, pink, purple, blue

To meet requirements for the Sundae Bar challenge over at Paper Sundaes challenge blog, I added pearls to both of the cards and they both have cream! So that’s three ‘toppings’ I met: Pearls, Cream, Distressed! Yay! Actually, this is also some sort of blue, isn’t it? Won’t that make me meet all four toppings? ^_^;

Memento marker stamping and lots of florals!

I have two cards here to share with you all today! And they are the same, just different colours to meet the challenge criteria for the City Crafter Challenge Blog challenge to make ‘A Perfect Pair’! I will be reposting these cards to enter for other challenges and this is a dedicated post just for my City Crafter Challenge.

The flower and leaves stamps are from Hero Arts, and I had to hand cut them for these cards. Before I did that, I coloured the stamp itself with Memento waterbased markers and spritzed it with some Perfect Pearls Mist so it is a wee bit shimmery but only when you look up close!

Adhered the ‘glassine’ pockets to the two different colour mats and attached them to a cream card base which was then distressed with some PTI Vintage Touch dye ink..

I used shipping tags for the ‘pull out’ and stamped the smallest flowers from the same HA stamp set

Another Mellow Summer

Hey everyone! Just a really quick post today 🙂

handmade card with buttons, everyday button bits, papertrey ink, glitter, handmade card singapore

A few weeks back I sold my unloved set of Everyday Button Bits to my stamping friend from NZ, Euna. And then I started to regret it!!! So I bought another set off someone else and decided this time I need to use it, and here I am with this very CAS card 🙂 Hope you enjoy!

I’m lovin’ you like candy

I made a fussy cut card!!! Shocker! I’m nearly blind now though, makes me wonder how people do it regularly!

Using the Sugar Rush stamp set from Paper Smooches Stamps (which has never seen ink until today), I made this saccharine sweet card. I’m having a pink overload day!

handmade card, handmade card singapore, handmade love card, valentines card, greeting card, homemade, candy, ice cream, lollipop, papersmooches stamp, sugar rush, doodlebug twine, challenges

Everything was first stamped onto various Doodlebug Sweet Cakes patterned paper and then coloured in some areas with Memento markers before being cut out. I added some glitter to the lollipop and cupcake but it isn’t very visible 😥 At least the liquid pearls on the ice cream is! I’m loving the twine Doodlebug has out- it’s all pink and red and Valentine’s colours… I used the pink and grey here!

Just to show that the ice cream has some dimensional foam behind it to add some fun to the card! Also, I got to use some washi tape in this project! So proud of myself for finally stop hoarding and using stuff lol.

I also stamped the bottom with some polka dots from PTI stamps using some Amuse ink… It’s such a pretty and light pink colour 🙂

Also, I just linked up to a Moxie Fab World Die Cutting Challenge with the wrong URL so I’m going to paste the card from my previous post here- Sorry about that!!

Before I go, I just want to share some pics of what I bought at the LSS yesterday! (paper pads and some AC cardstock not pictured!)

Aren’t they adorable? I can’t wait to use them 🙂

Thanks again for visiting! Have a lovely weekend! xx Stephinka
