Stephinka’s Adventures with Copics…. Part 1

I’ve recently nosedived into the world of Copics and boy, is it expensive to start out on?!

I haven’t had much luck colouring on regular cardstock at all, even with the Memento ink; the Copic inks just tend to bleed out of the lines! Anyway, while I was at the art store buying my first Copics, I also picked up a specially-for-Copics drawing paper. It is very lightweight but it stays true to its claim that it does not bleed.

The challenge I have coloured something for is the TTC11 Touch Twin Marker Challenge:

These Touch Twin markers look like Copics but are more inexpensive. Since most people don’t own any (yet) and I would like to win this and try some for myself, I made myself do some some colouring in order to enter something into the challenge. I coloured a Market Street Cool Cats cat stamp as a ginger cat! Never mind I’m not fab enough yet to colour in some stripes LOL, and please excuse me, this is pretty much around the 7-8th thing that I’ve coloured with Copics:

Not much depth… I am going to need more of those YRs,,, LOL

Thanks for checking out my blog and if you have any tutorials or tips to share, and if you know how to colour on normal cardstock, please tell me in the comments! xx Stephinka

Valentines… now with extra LOVE! :)

I missed Day 3 and 4 of the Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities, but today I’m back with some card, that are inspired by images on Pinterest. This card I’m sharing in this post is inspired by this:

Love-themed sugar cookies in such delicious shades of pink and red!

Some burlap… PTI heart border dies on Doodlebug Sweet Cakes collection papers. A stamped heart using Hero Arts also on paper from the same collection; a white glittery chipboard heart from Melissa Frances. Finally, PTI Tiny Tag on a MFT heart die cut 🙂

Just love that glittered heart and how there is a little heart cut-out on the kraft tag. 🙂

Thanks for looking!! Hope everyone is doing well! I’ve been having a fair bit of pain these couple of days and hope it will pass soon to more comfortable days!  xx Stephinka.

for you… my love :)

Unlike making cards for Christmas, I feel like Valentine’s is much more fun to craft for… Since you can give out handmade I love you cards all year round! I think that’s why my inspiration hasn’t run too low even with it looming ahead as it would usually if I had to craft a lot for a particular holiday.

Excuse my lighting! It’s so hard to photograph cards without a lightbox and I think I desperately need to make one… The problem is first I need to get out of my chair. LOL! And then I need to actually make the darned thing.. Oh goodness. Now I’m wishing I had a DH; I imagine it would be lovely and fairly convenient for a crafter who had a DH into DIY so he can help custom make racks, tables, cupboards to hold all the lovely embellishments and supplies.

Lots of Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 4 action here! Hearts are from My Favorite Things, and of course the tag is from Tiny Tags (PTI)! I’m loving the kraft buttons from PTI too… They look like they will go with anything!

I have another card to share but I will put it in a separate post. Thank you for visiting!! xx Stephinka (and as always, I will always visit your blog if you leave your URL!)

Top Tip for Top Tip Tuesday: To sew straight lines as a frame around the focal point, use a pencil lightly to draw in where you want to sew- simple tip but makes it much easier to go straight and neat!

If anyone wants the supply list just give me a shout- I snatched the PP from random paper pads I have and can’t remember which ones, but I’ll try to help if anyone happens to want to know where they are from 🙂

Thank you for visiting. Your comments mean a lot to me, and once again I love to return comments so don’t forget to leave your blog addy too! xx Stephinka
