I am BACK!!!

Whoa…. After more than a month of not making any cards and simply having ZERO inspiration… I made 15 cards over the course of 2 days! I’ve been spending time ‘finding me’ again, and it has been a pretty rewarding little break there.

I am currently involved in a project where I will make 60 cards for young cancer survivors and their caregivers! I decided to start making the kids’ cards first because goodness knows I am going to suck at making things that may appeal to children.

And these are the fruits of my labour…. Some of them have doubles because as you all know, when you cut 8.5×11 size paper you get two A2 cards out of them.. So instead of cracking my brains over how to make ALLLLLL the cards look completely different, I did some cheating 😀

Some other news:

Health-wise I am better than ever. I’m getting healthier and fitter, I’m losing weight without really trying. The best part is that I have less pain from the fibromyalgia, and my depression has improved too. Life is pretty good at the moment I have to say! Thank you all for your concern while I had to go on my hiatus. ❤ In the meantime, I have also started a personal blog of sorts with silly comics over here. Content may be offensive.. I really do cuss like a sailor but I try to keep that to a minimum here; over there though, you have been warned! 😛

Shout outs:
Cara– I got your card, thank you so much hun!
EUNA!!! *HUGS* So glad to have ‘met’ you 🙂 Thanks for being such a wonderful friend, you are a true treasure.

A Card Just to Say Hello!

Hello again! My second post today also follows the colourQ challenge like my previous card!

And is also based on this sketch:

So here is my second card…

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

The hearts I used here are from the leftovers of the hearts die cut from my last card here 😀 The pink flourishes are cut with My Favorite Things Leafy Flourish die, which I just love!! It’s so dainty 🙂 The cream flourishes are cut from Papertrey Ink’s Fancy Flourishes dies.

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

I remembered to use some foam tape for added dimension this time *laughs* Even the white mat all the elements are on has foam tape underneath to pop from the card base! I’m just loving that effect. ‘Just Saying Hello’ is from the Hero Arts ‘Truly Appreciated’ clear stamp set (disclaimer: this is not an affiliate link). I just bought it and I think I’ll be reaching for it often for its larger-sized sentiments!

Before I go I’d just like to show everyone my Valentine’s flowers from my boyfriend, who somehow managed to send me roses from Australia. They are delivered by a local florist here in Singapore and I got them two days after Valentine’s Day but it’s still so very sweet!

This is actually the first time a boyfriend has ever given me flowers for Valentine’s Day so yes, I am actually pretty stoked LOL!! Thank you for the flowers Elliot, I love you 🙂 x

And that is all for today, I’m still working on cleaning up my room and reorganising my dies and stamps – a huge task to undertake! I didn’t know I had *that* much! But I know once they get organised I will reach for the unused ones more. Thank you for visiting my blog!  xx Stephinka

Under the Weather?

Sharing a ‘feel better soon’ card- we all need a get well card and usually it’s hard to have a card ready for that immediately so I thought it was a great idea to do a challenge for one. Now I have a get well card at the ready! Also, I’m following a colourQ challenge:

And I also based the creation of my card on a sketch I found…

Without further ado…. Here’s my card!

handmade get well card, feel better handmade card, pink, red, turquoise, cream, white, papertrey ink limitless layers, silhouette cameo, papertrey ink double ended banners, stampin up lace die

I used Papertrey Ink’s Limitless Layers in two of their available sizes to make both the ‘cool caribbean’ colour and the ‘pretty in pink’. The diecut of those hearts were made with my Silhouette Cameo! Love that thing and need to use it more often!

handmade get well card, feel better handmade card, pink, red, turquoise, cream, white, papertrey ink limitless layers, silhouette cameo, papertrey ink double ended banners, stampin up lace die

And another favourite die of mine from Papertrey Ink is the double ended banners one- which I embossed with PTI Sunshine impression plate and then stamped with a Feel Better Soon sentiment from Paper Smooches Stamps set ‘Healthy Vibes’ 🙂 Finished the card with a Stampin Up border punch- I don’t know what it’s called but I like that the scallops/lace looks simple enough to still be able to make this card appropriate to give to a guy/boy who is ill.

Thanks for visiting! I am trying to keep up with replying to comments- I read every one of them but don’t always have the time to reply. Know that I still love you all though! Hope everyone is having a good day! 😀 xx Stephinka

To My Own Valentine :)

In this post I am sharing with you the card I have made for my boyfriend, so Elliot, if you are reading this, CLICK AWAY! Don’t spoil your own surprise…

So because the PTI contest had us all mucking about Pinterest looking for inspiration, I stumbled upon an image that reminded me to make a Valentine’s card that was more personal to us as a couple, and not something that was just my sort of usual thing.

Red velvet cupcakes are my personal favourite! Well anyway I’ll get on to showing you my card for him.

handmade valentines card singapore, muffin, cupcake, milo, glitter ribbon

My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship- but during the time we stayed together he would make me the best Milo, which is a malt chocolate drink probably not so well-known in USA! E would heat up soy milk — I’m mildly lactose intolerant — on the stove and then fill the mug nearly half-full with the Milo powder so I could get some really thick and rich choccy drink on a chilly evening in Melbourne. As a joke I would always ask E for a cupcake or muffin so it would complete my mini-meal. And so this card came to be 🙂

I used Candy Cane Christmas from PTI for the mug of Milo (words stamped with some lovely Lawn Fawn alphas), ampersand from Paper Smooches and finally the cupcake with PTI’s Cupcake Collections- I had sold the dies off as I hardly used them so I had to fussy-cut out that pink topping!!

Also, I just had to add something *shiny* to the card because E knows I like shiny things LOL. It is some pretty glitter ribbon from American Crafts; I practically started gravitating towards the ribbon shelf in my LSS when I spotted it and just had to have it 🙂

SHINY!!!

Thanks for visiting, and if you read through this post, you get an e-cupcake from me! xx Stephinka

What I did with my paper punches…

Oh boy.. I saw the punches challenge on Moxie Fab Worldand decided to give it a go. Got a lot of punches? Give it a try too! I have a problem: I don’t own a lot of punches, so for my own take on this challenge I wanted to use as many of the punches I do have for this card and the final effect, I think, looks kind of like a kindergardener’s work >_< But here goes nothing… I tried my best, don’t laugh!

handmade card, punched flowers, tissue paper flowers, butterfly punch, scissor fringed grass, moxie fab world punches challenge

So I used some white tissue (from packaging and stuff that I save and hoard >_<), pink crepe and pink tissue, again from hoarding, to create the flower. And then I inked it up a little on the petals (punched with Stampin’ Up scallop thingy) with Antique Linen distress ink. I added a smaller pink cardstock circle in the middle for more support before throwing in the metal brad. Also, punched the leaves using my circle punches (EK Success makes great ones!), used up some scrap paper in the process, woo hoo! I had to use those butterflies from a Martha Stewart punch as well, they are so adorable and is my favourite butterfly punch 🙂 handmade card, punched flowers, tissue paper flowers, butterfly punch, scissor fringed grass, moxie fab world punches challenge “Hey!” was from an alphabet set by Paper Smooches… I do love Kim’s fun handwriting.. Makes everything cuter, so I had to add it, to make this look cuter. LOL. I don’t have fringe scissors like the Martha Stewart one, so I painfully hand cut my grass! Why do I keep doing things that make me feel like I am going blind? Haha!!! My eyes were actually starting to cross up! @_@ So that is my attempt at the punch challenge! I know it’s not really innovative but it’s the effort that counts sometimes, eh? Eh? 🙂

Before I go, can I get a show of hands if there is anyone reading this blog that love beauty, make up and fashion related stuff? I’m at the baby stages of getting my beauty/fashion blog going and would be ever so grateful if you added it to your feed or email updates! It is here: Kittymao Beauty and nearly all set up with a soft opening started already- I’m preparing much more beauty tips and make up reviews so yes, please subscribe! 🙂

I’m lovin’ you like candy

I made a fussy cut card!!! Shocker! I’m nearly blind now though, makes me wonder how people do it regularly!

Using the Sugar Rush stamp set from Paper Smooches Stamps (which has never seen ink until today), I made this saccharine sweet card. I’m having a pink overload day!

handmade card, handmade card singapore, handmade love card, valentines card, greeting card, homemade, candy, ice cream, lollipop, papersmooches stamp, sugar rush, doodlebug twine, challenges

Everything was first stamped onto various Doodlebug Sweet Cakes patterned paper and then coloured in some areas with Memento markers before being cut out. I added some glitter to the lollipop and cupcake but it isn’t very visible 😥 At least the liquid pearls on the ice cream is! I’m loving the twine Doodlebug has out- it’s all pink and red and Valentine’s colours… I used the pink and grey here!

Just to show that the ice cream has some dimensional foam behind it to add some fun to the card! Also, I got to use some washi tape in this project! So proud of myself for finally stop hoarding and using stuff lol.

I also stamped the bottom with some polka dots from PTI stamps using some Amuse ink… It’s such a pretty and light pink colour 🙂

Also, I just linked up to a Moxie Fab World Die Cutting Challenge with the wrong URL so I’m going to paste the card from my previous post here- Sorry about that!!

Before I go, I just want to share some pics of what I bought at the LSS yesterday! (paper pads and some AC cardstock not pictured!)

A gift tag and some new cards to share

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I have a project here to share and also a card 🙂

First is a gift tag I made… My first ever gift tag LOL. I had bought a gift for my friend, no reason, I just saw it and thought she would like it.

handmade tag, heat embossed, handmade gift tag, mehndi medallions, papertrey ink, make it monday

Using one of the larger Limitless Layers dies from Papertrey Ink, I made a die cut and then heat embossed it using the Mehndi Medallions stamp with some Zing embossing powder in the shade, Powder.

It’s a candle! And I tried to match the embossing powder as you can see.. But I didn’t have anything that was more aqua, so it would have to do! 😉

You must have been wondering what’s the deal about this tag… It opens up! Yay! To find out how to do this with regular dies, check out the link I have below under the challenge I take part in for Papertrey Ink 🙂

handmade card, handmade card singapore, paper smooches stamps, papertrey ink, card sketch, layers, doily

I think this card can work for multiple occasions- for the new year, or even a birthday! I used pattern paper that I have been hoarding, from K&Company. It was from an older 6×6 paper pad that I had so much trouble finding that I could not bear to use it. So this is my ‘something old’ for one of the challenges.

Bling bling! These are what are new to my stash… Blue rhinestones from Kaisercraft 🙂

I’m starting to feel a little unwell, so I’ll just end this post here! Thank you for visiting! xx Stephinka

a farewell

On Saturday night, a friend of mine took a flight back home, and we don’t know when we will meet again, so I thought it was a perfect time to make her a card to say goodbye with. I will miss her dearly!

I made her a little bookmark (die: Half & Half from PTI) that was tucked into the envelope cut from Seed Packet die, also from PTI, and parchment paper. We are both fans of the HBO TV series Game of Thrones, and bought the book set together, so I hope she finds this handy for reading with.

To make the card even more personalised, I stamped her nickname inside (Quinn’s ABCs from Lawn Fawn), along with a monkey (SU!)!

Other supplies:
Patterned paper (Webster’s Pages); Turning a New Leaf die, Double-ended Banners, Spiral Notebook Page, Soft Stone cardstock (PTI); Vintage Photo Distress ink; Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); glitter chipboard heart (Melissa Frances); Divine Twine; Live, Laugh, Love stamp (SU!);

I’ve also gotten into the CHRISTMAS mood! It’s way too early, and I don’t even celebrate Christmas- but I recently bought some Paper Smooches stamps with super CUTE!!! snowmen!!

Eee! I want snow! These snowmen were coloured with Faber Castell watercolour pencils (because I’m too poor for Copics LOL) and a water brush thingy (that has a water reservoir… I forgot the brand)

Other supplies:
Mat Stack 5 die, Woodgrain Impression Plate, Heart die (PTI), Gold Embossing Powder (Ranger) – just a note I don’t like this- it leaves dust on light cardstock, you can even see it here on the darker CS -_-; Basic Grey patterned paper

I hope this makes up for my previous crappy post LOL. Thanks for visiting! Leave me your URL so I can visit you too! ❤
