un ‘merci’ carte – a ‘thank you’ card :)

I learned a little French as an elective topic back when I was in a polytechnic, training to be a biotechnologist (look where I am now, LOL)… I’ve always had a soft spot for this language, although Russian is my favourite, and I’d love to have some Russian greeting stamps. One day, I’ll have some custom made for myself 🙂

For now, I have a ‘merci’ sentiment from Papertrey Ink which I used for my card here today:

I made this card with all the challenges I wanted to do already in mind… I picked a sketch from Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog.

Using the Postage die from Papertrey Ink, I cut those 10 pieces and using an MFT scallop die, put my card together… Thought I could enter a paper piecing challenge by Craft Your Days Away Challenge Blog (Challenge 39).

And as for the colours I picked, they are for The Play Date Cafe (Challenge #119 for B&W + Hot Pink) I used Raspberry Fizz ink from PTI and a Raspberry Fizz button for all the hot pink I got in my card!

Also the colours I used were also inspired by Our Creative Corner, which wanted B&W and a splash of colour… Undoubtedly, it was hot pink!

I wanted to push myself even more and picked one more challenge to base my card on, and it was Crazy4Challenges – C4C124 – which was to use polka dots and stripes! These were stamped with PTI’s Polka Dot Basics II for the varying polka dot sizes, and Lawn Fawn’s Schoolhouse Backdrops for the stripes 🙂

So, 5 challenges in total and I think I did pretty okay! What do you think? 🙂

Before I go, just wanted to share with everyone a wonderful piece of news that I was featured on The Kraft Journal blog’s Feature Me Friday for a card I made just a short while ago; original post is here. This is the first time that I have been handpicked and featured in a blog entry like this and I’m beyond thrilled! I do hope to continue improving in my stamping and cardmaking skills 🙂

Thanks for visiting, I hope everyone has a lovely day 🙂 xxStephinka

A Card Just to Say Hello!

Hello again! My second post today also follows the colourQ challenge like my previous card!

And is also based on this sketch:

So here is my second card…

hello handmade card, all occasion handmade card, just saying hello, pink, cream, turquoise, grosgrain ribbon, silhouette cameo, my favorite things leafy flourish, papertrey ink fancy flourishes.

The hearts I used here are from the leftovers of the hearts die cut from my last card here 😀 The pink flourishes are cut with My Favorite Things Leafy Flourish die, which I just love!! It’s so dainty 🙂 The cream flourishes are cut from Papertrey Ink’s Fancy Flourishes dies.

I remembered to use some foam tape for added dimension this time *laughs* Even the white mat all the elements are on has foam tape underneath to pop from the card base! I’m just loving that effect. ‘Just Saying Hello’ is from the Hero Arts ‘Truly Appreciated’ clear stamp set (disclaimer: this is not an affiliate link). I just bought it and I think I’ll be reaching for it often for its larger-sized sentiments!

Before I go I’d just like to show everyone my Valentine’s flowers from my boyfriend, who somehow managed to send me roses from Australia. They are delivered by a local florist here in Singapore and I got them two days after Valentine’s Day but it’s still so very sweet!

This is actually the first time a boyfriend has ever given me flowers for Valentine’s Day so yes, I am actually pretty stoked LOL!! Thank you for the flowers Elliot, I love you 🙂 x

And that is all for today, I’m still working on cleaning up my room and reorganising my dies and stamps – a huge task to undertake! I didn’t know I had *that* much! But I know once they get organised I will reach for the unused ones more. Thank you for visiting my blog!  xx Stephinka

Here’s a card I promised to show you yesterday! A lovely friend already bought this (and the previous card) to send as Valentine cards, I’m so excited to make a sale! :’)

handmade valentines day card, love card, i love you card, pink, gray, grey, embossed, melissa frances glitter heart pink, gray ribbon, papertrey ink

I used some grey grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts called Ash, that I thought was a very good match for the PTI shade called Stone. Can’t compare as I don’t have any Stone ribbons but this will do!

The sun was shining so brightly in my balcony! I think it was around noon that I took this picture… I do love that it brought out the pretty glitter in the pink glittered heart by Melissa Frances. I have been hoarding those hearts she used to sell (or rather, I can’t find them anymore).

I’m going to make more posts for tonight as I am joining in some challenges!

Thank you for visiting!! xx Stephinka (and as always, I will always visit your blog if you leave your URL!)
